Three Ways To Create An Extraordinary 2011
I thought 2009 was a tough year filled with some very profound shifts and 2010 was even more intense! 2010 invited us to clean up stuff we have been avoiding or resisting, to restore personal integrity, balance, and alignment with our soul path and to prioritize what we most value in our life.
I believe 2011 will bring some wonderfull surprises. With all the cleaning up and clearing you did last year though personal transformation, healing, and action, you can consciously choose what you wish to create this year. As you dream, I encourage you be sure to invite your soul to co-create your theme and vision so that you are in alignment with the Universe!
1. Create A Theme Year
I advocate having a vision and a plan of action. If you don't know where you are going, how do you know how to get there or, when you DO get there? So, instead of writing goals, consider creating a theme year instead that embodies the decisions you are ready to make this year.
Imagine seeing your intentions and commitments as keeping promises and agreements with yourself. I mean saying YES to the things you feel excited and passionate about without the shoulds and have tos attached - the ones you joyfully choose .
You know the ones I mean!
Themes provide consistency because they can move you away from patterns and habits by bringing passion, excitement, and purpose to your day. It’s also a way to create accountability and focus to reach your deepest dreams and desires.
- Select a theme for your year. Allow your excitement and passion to guide you in making that selection. Play with the idea. You might have more than one theme!
- Identify the promises you will make to support your theme. What agreements will you commit to fulfilling? Stay realistic!
- What will you need to stay inspired and true to your theme and promises? What resources, structures, people, and things will help you stay on track? What might you need to add that you don't have?
My themes for this year are Love and Freedom. Yours can be anything you wish. Once decided, themes provide the focus for the decisions you make and actions you take throughout the year.
I believe 2011 will bring some wonderfull surprises. With all the cleaning up and clearing you did last year though personal transformation, healing, and action, consciously choose what you wish to create this year. As you dream, I encourage you to invite your soul to co-create your theme and vision so that you are in alignment with the Universe!
2. Write a Thank You Letter To God/Source
The idea is this:
The letter is dated for the last day of the year. Imagine it is the end of the year and you are gratefully reflecting on all the accomplishments, miracles, gifts, blessings, joys…. that occurred in 2011. Written as it has already happened, let your heart write the letter expressing all you want for yourself, others, and the world for 2011. I invite you to make space for your soul to write this letter with you so that you are bringing forth the voice of your heart as you write. Think about your deepest desires and the yearning you have that will enhance your life as well as the world.
In the past I have written very ambitious letters that I partially manifested primarily because they were written more from fear rather than from my passion and soul purpose. I encourage you to take time to be quiet and still so that you can hear the whispers of your soul's desires when writing this letter. In addition to the dreams you might have for your business success, your deepest desires might be to know your value, to love yourself, to release your fears and step confidently into the future that is calling you, to know absent of any doubt that everything you need is supplied by God always... listen....
Let your heart write this letter. Allow it to take on a life of it's own and flow. Read it out loud, share it with a friend, print it out and post it in plain sight with your theme (s). Use this letter to be your beacon as you live this year.
3. 2010 Year in Review
If you missed the 10 questions I included in December's newsletter, click here for the revised and expanded article. Taking time to reflect on the past year by acknowledging your successes, uncovering obstacles, and completing as much as you can before the year ends, opens space for new intentions to actualize.
Writing your responses to these questions will support you in being your best so that you can build upon your business successes and experience greater personal happiness.
Final note...continuing to do your inner work is essential, now more than ever. Whatever you wish to create this year will be a vibrational match for whatever you give attention to - consciously and subconsciously regardless of your best intentions. You can invest in wealth building programs and still find yourself struggling because you are still holding on to the shadows from your past.
You must have the courage to face your shadows and walk through them. Trying to get rid of thoughts and feelings by stuffing them or talking yourself out of them will only give them power to re-emerge again and again. Mental techniques that work solely with your conscious mind are short-term solutions rather than transformations.
As you create your year, remember you are not alone. Be open to expand your tribe and welcome the love and help from trusted friends, colleagues, and professionals. And no matter what vision you dream of, it pales in comparison to the one that The Divine has for you. Challenge your smaller thinking and invite faith, trust, and courage to be your guiding touchstones to live your destiny.
Commit to daily practices and sacred time to commune with Source. There is nothing too big to handle when you have God with you. Ask for help with sincerity for what it deeply needed and be open to recognize and receive the gifts, blessings, and miracles that come in whatever form they show up in response to your prayers.
Look for beauty in the world and take delight in simple pleasures that often come freely. Stop and be present with the magic that already exists - breathing, a beautiful sunrise, Mother Earth's majesty, walks in nature, your children's smile......
Celebrate all that is right and wonderfull in your world rather than what seems to be missing. There is so much to be gratefull for...isn't there?

2011 New Year's Ritual - by Debbie Ford
Rituals can mark a new beginning or be the demarcation at the end of a chapter of our lives. They can set us up for a new future, mark a profound time of change and seal in the dreams and the desires of a life yet to be lived. This year, I've written a vow and a ritual for you that will open you up, remind you of who you are and leave you feeling blessed and ready for the upcoming year. So take a moment, breathe into each line of the vow, and allow yourself some time over the weekend to do the New Year's Ritual.
The Vow
My life is worth a billion blessings to all those I meet on my journey.
I am the heaven and all that exists in the sky above.
I am the vastness of my greatest thought and the infinite power that sources and sustains the entire universe.
On this day, I will remember who I am, what I am here for and why I chose the experiences that have come into my path this past year.
Today, I promise to leave the smallness of my darkest thoughts and melt with open arms into the never-ending, all-powerful love of my highest self.
Today, I surrender into the open arms of 2011, allowing each day of the upcoming year to surprise, comfort and nourish my soul's deepest desires.
I vow to return to the spark of the divine and use my power to light up the world.
This year, I will give to others what I want back for myself.
If I want love, I will find ways to love each and every person I come across.
If I want peace, I will think peaceful thoughts, say peaceful words and pray for peace for all those who are living in chaos, including myself.
If I want success, I will work diligently to help those around me succeed. I will stay focused, do my absolute best and seek excellence in everything I do.
If I want respect, I will begin by respecting life and all that comes with it. I will respect those around me and those who work hard to make this planet a better place. I will respect the earth, my body, my past and the gifts that I hold and I will surrender judgment for reverence.
In 2011, I trust that what I give to the world will be given back to me.
The Ritual
- Make a list of 10 experiences that blessed and nourished you in 2010.
To complete 2010, write out why you chose the challenging experiences of the last year. Do this from the highest perspective so that you can find their gifts. - Notice if you're carrying any dark, small or limiting thoughts into 2011. Write them all down. Affirm you don't need them anymore. They're not the truth. They're just thoughts. Then rip them up into 100 shredded little specks of nothing and throw them in the trash.
- Choose one quality (e.g., love, peace, success, respect, etc.) that you most want to express and commit to in 2011. Write out 5 ways that you can give and share this quality with others.
- Write down 5 goals that you feel inspired to commit to in 2011.
- Read this vow or use one of your own each morning to reconnect with the power you hold to light up the world.
I am wishing you a healthy, happy, inspired new year. May you give yourself all that you desire and all that you deserve.
Loving you always,
Debbie Ford
You can be fully satisfied with where you are, understanding that you're eternally evolving. When you get into that place of feeling appreciation of where you are and of who you are, and appreciation of what you are, and you accept that you are a never-ending, always unfolding Being, then you can stand in that delicate balance of being optimistic about what is to come, without being unhappy about where you stand. Find a way of eagerly anticipating future changes, while at the same time you are in love and satisfied with who, what, where and how you be. As you begin to positively focus, getting to feel so good about so many subjects, you will begin to feel the power that creates worlds flowing through you. - Abraham
