Years ago when I began hosting my own Internet radio show on Blog Talk and my Compelling Conversations Series teleseminars, I had several reasons for choosing to add interviews to my marketing focus.
I wanted to:
1. Build credibility as an expert
2. Brand my business and concepts
3. Hone my presentations skills to deliver my message
4. Make money
5. Grow my database
6. Reach massive amounts of people quickly
7. Make a difference in the world
The whole notion of doing what you love and being profitable isn’t a pipe dream. Interviews have opened many doors for me both as a host and a popular guest to receive invitations to be on numerous shows, summits, panels, and special events because people have come to know my name and trust that I will deliver high quality content.
As a host I’ve been able to interview fabulous guests including Dr. Bernie Siegel, Marci Shimoff, Guy Finley, Dr. Judith Orloff, Chris Widener, Neale Donald Walsch, Peggy McColl, Janet Attwood and many others.
Are interviews profitable?
- Marketing whiz Kathleen Gage generates thousands of dollars of income from doing interviews and consistently incorporates them into her marketing strategy.
- Marci Shimoff, author of the runaway New York times best-seller, “Happy for No Reason”, sold a ton of books when her campaign first launched. This past April 2009, Marci’s book came out in paperback and she did about 50 interviews to promote her book. Her campaign was a smash. Imagine how many books she sold the second time and how much she made writing a book that changed people’s lives?
- In the last several years of hosting and being a guest on numerous shows, teleseminars and summits, I have generated thousands of dollars from new individual coaching clients, registrations for my products and programs that I know came from investing in doing interviews to build my brand, name recognition, and credibility.
