In a conversation yesterday with a good friend over breakfast, we chatted about what happening in our lives. Periodically we get together to catch up and it had been awhile!
Last year she became involved with her husband’s new solar power business and she is loving it. Business is great and her whole face lit up as she talked about upcoming regulations and ways people could have access to harnessing the sun to be their energy source and save lots of $$.
Then she spoke about her other business which she had been building for the past 10 years which is a network marketing company (MLM)Â offering wellness products. She said, “I haven’t done a thing with that business in at least 6 months and I feel guilty. I love the products and I just don’t like the business part of how it works. I receive residual income each month because of the level I reached. If I walk away from this business, I’ll feel like a failure. I have to make money and I’m feeling called to work more with solar power!”
I asked her, If you no longer have excitement about growing your MLM business and think you might want to let it go, would you be holding on to trying to make it work because of the money?
YES, but I know I will continue to receive residual income from what I have built up so far.
Hmmm.. I know money is important to you, and it sound as if your passion and spiritual nudges are calling you to the solar power business.  What does your intuition and gut say to you about this?
She said, “I don’t know, I’m confused. I haven’t been doing any of my spiritual practices and I am feeling disconnected. Ive put a lot of years into my MLM company and I don’t want to just walk away, and yet….”
What would be your ideal way to build the solar business and market your wellness products in a way that feels right for you?
We discussed several possible options that would be a better fit for her to pursue the solar power business AND market her wellness products including growing her online presence, doing interviews, and teleseminars.
Hmm – so what do you feel you need to do?
She said,“Tune into my heart for guidance and direction.”
Great idea.
I’ve been writing about making choices from fear and lack. It’s common to continue saying YES to something that promises a financial return especially if you have invested time and energy into it. It’s normal to try to make something work when it might be time to let it go or to become something else. Our mind can become locked into seeing things from a specific perspective and we can lose sight of other options or trusting that letting something go might be the exact action necessary for something greater to show up in our lives that is more fabulous than we could have ever imagined! Faith and trust…
How to know when it is important to go the distance with your business or let it go (in part or completely)?
Typically, when faced with a decision or perceived problem, we kick into mental problem-solving. We ask, “What should I do?” Our mind searches for logical answers and solutions.
When we drop down into our heart and gut for inspired guidance, the answers we receive in that space of silence might be very different from what our head advises us to do.
Are you at a crossroads in your business or feeling called to do something else?
Do some deeper introspection to get clear on what really matters to you.
- What are you passionate about?
- What would you do even if you didn’t get paid for it?
- What do you value?
- What do you see as your purpose?
- What are your deepest dreams and desires?
When you look at your life now, does it match up with what you deeply care about? Are you living a life that reflects your heart and soul’s desires? If not, where is the miss-match?
5Â Questions to ask yourself:
1. If what you are doing in your business no longer excites, is there any part of it you like that is worth keeping? What part of it do you still enjoy?
2. If you saying nothing is enjoyable then there is no point asking any further questions. The answer is clear that moving on is what you are most likely feeling called to do.  Begin creating an exit strategy while paying attention to your intuition and instincts for what’s next. Here’s where stepping into faith and trust comes in!
3. Ok, so some of what you are doing is still juicing you. What’s missing? What would bring new life to what you are doing? Are you trying to do it all? Do you need additional help? Are there some aspects of your business you need to outsource to free up your energy for other things that excite you?
4. Is there anything that you have been thinking about that you have been feeling an inner nudge to do even if it seems nuts?Listening to and following your inner wisdom is key to manifesting more of your soul’s desires.
5. Check in with your self-care. Have you let your boundaries slide? Do you need to let some balls drop and fall away, schedule ”me” time, or do some decluttering….? Feeling drained and overextended will color any situation when your mind, body and spirit is yelling for some TLC.
5. If you are still feeling blocked, take a break from DOING work. Take a walk in nature, do some gardening, go to a movie, schedule lunch or a massage. Stepping back to create space to clear your head can bring new perspective.
Last week, I took 4 days away from my computer and cleaned my house, decluttered, took walks outside, ate healthy, watched movies, got together with friends, meditated, and just followed my heart. Today, I’m back feeling lighter and re-energized to creatively work.
Staying in any situation that is costing you peace of mind, self-worth, physical safety, your health… because of money can cost you more than you can imagine. Your life is meant to be happy and taking those leaps of faith when you feel so strongly guided is one of the ways the Universe is telling you, you are not alone!

Great points especially no.5. I had to take a step back too last week and have so much more clarity now.
Nourishing practises make it so much easier to make heart-based over head-based decisions and then to take those leaps of faith.
Nice post x x x

I found #5 very important too Lola
I was feeling very blocked and my self-care was off. Nurturing myself keeps my energy and focus high so I can tune into my heart. I found much more inspiration flowing when I slowed down.
Hugs,
Lo
