Wouldn’t It Be Nice To….

During my Mastermind group call we were asked to share what we were proud of accomplishing personally and professionally in 2008. ( A few day’s ago I wrote about doing a year-end review ). As we were celebrating together, one of the group members suggested that we play with the statement, “Wouldn’t it be nice to…” to invite deliberate dreaming about anything we desired.
My first thought was the statement would be more effective if it was said as an intention. So many people have had success with affirmations and declarations. Then it was explained that using the statement, “Wouldn’t it be nice to…” eliminates potential objections our minds can create to negate a thought.
When we make statements affirming what we want: more money, more clients, a better job, a great relationship, weight loss…. it’s not unusual for our minds to come up with reasons why our dreams and desires would be difficult or impossible to attain. We play those “not enough” inner tapes – I’m not smart enough, good enough. I don’t have enough money…..or we slip into fearful thinking and focus on worse case scenarios, all or nothing thinking, and anticipated problems. It’s exhausting!
Instead of expecting the best, we often lean towards anticipating the worst and wonder why we find life to be hard or painfull? Self-fulfilling prophecies are very powerfull!Â
I’m reminded of an email I received from www.tut.com. The daily notes are written as a light-hearted personal message from the Universe to each subscriber. It said:
What happens when someone worries? Basically, they think of 100 reasons why something might go wrong. And all of those thoughts then struggle to become things, sometimes overriding their more constructive thoughts. It’s like a train wreck. But that’s the power of worry.
Now, let’s say you want something fantastic to manifest in your life. Have you sat down yet and listed 100 reasons why it might come to you easily, fast, and harmoniously? I think you should.
Today works – The Universe
The beauty of “Wouldn’t it be nice to … ” is that it invites your imagination to dream and play without resistance or attachment to the outcome, while letting the Universe know what you want.
I wrote a list of 21 statements that are still forming in my imagination. To give you an idea…..
Wouldn’t it be nice to….
1. Live each day with passion, joy, and vibrant health
2 Have a surplus of money and abundance flowing continually from multiple income streams
3. Eat whatever I want without gaining weight
4. Write a best seller that changes people’s lives
5. Fall in love with myself
6. Heal all fears, feeling of unworthiness and any other programs that hold me back from fully remembering who I am
7. Have unwavering faith and trust in God as the Source of all my good
8. See each person embody The Golden Rule
9. Experience heaven and on earth, united as a one-world community
10. Emulate the qualities of God – to become God-like

It is the goal of every Christian to become “Christ Like”. If everyone strived for that…wouldn’t it be nice to live in our world??

Indeed Marianne
That is the vision I hold for us in the world – to emulate the qualities of God.
Happy New Year!
Blessings,
Lorraine

Fabulous Suzie
We inspire each other, don’t we? When the idea was first suggested I had fun imagining and playing with my desires. It was very freeing!
Pass on the idea!
Blessings,
Lorraine

Great work, Lorraine! I can really see the power behind “Wouldn’t it be nice to . . . ” That statement opens doors by getting the imagination going.
I’m also going to check out your post on creating a theme year; that sounds interesting.

I absolutely love the “Wouldn’t it be nice” game. I recall reading about it first in an Abraham-Hicks book. It carries a delicious lightness to it that is irresistible. Off to make my list.

Thanks so much Terry
Yes, that the point to stimulate imagination and invite dreaming. Creating a theme for the year is another favorite. You can orient your vision, goals, intentions, and strategies framed around your theme which will also hold you accountable.
Happy New Year!
