A few days ago Darren Hardy, Publisher of SUCCESS Magazine emailed me to tell me about an ebook he wrote on achieving goals. Setting intentions, creating a vision, designing strategies and taking action is all part of the work I do with clients so why should I even take a look at yet, another goal-setting success formula that has been written a gazillion times? I liked it for several reasons:
- It synthesizes the best ideas, concepts, and proven strategies from books, seminars, and life experiences in an easy to follow process. I liked his questions for a year end review in visioning for 2009
- He combines spiritual principles with business practices in a way that can be customized for your dreams and desires
- For folks who appreciate structure to maintain focus and motivation, you’ll find a weekly calendar for 2009 to measure your progress and successes
- Some solutions are offered for potential self sabotage including enlisting support from friends, family, mentors, and colleagues. I encourage people to add additional accountability with, masterminding, and coaching. If you are serious about having a fabulous life and you know having a team of support will help you achieve it, using old reasons and excuses to say no to adding additional help will affect your results. (That is another form of self-sabotage. There are many creative solutions to overcome the seemingly impossible!)
- The inclusion of the Wheel of Life creates a snapshot of where you are and areas where you are out of balance which makes mapping out your dreams and goals easier to picture.
For the money, I think it’s a great value at $19.95 that is offered for a limited time (reg. price is $49.97 is still a great price).  You’ll find lots of great reminders of things you already know (which can be a great help) and some ways to wrap your mind and intentions for the coming year. Print out the pages you want to start with (there are 164) and put them into a 3-ring binder and you have the beginning of a plan for the New Year!
