A few days ago a friend of mine told me about Esther and Jerry Hicks’ new book, The Astonishing Power of Emotions, from the teachings of Abraham. It’s available in hardcover or CD
I don’t know about you….I have a slew of books I just ordered and several sitting on my bookshelf that I will probably never fully read because I tend to read parts of many books at one time. Right now I have Timothy Ferris’ book, “The 4-Hour Workweek“, Eldon Taylor’s “Choices and Illusions” and “The Law of Attraction” sitting on my nightstand.
I ordered “The Astonishing Power of Emotions” because I see how powerfull emotions are in creating our life experiences and I want to be working more deliberately what what I’m attracting. As a coach, having a broad toolbox of resources is one of the benfits clients gain from hiring me. We are all learning to be the Creators of our lives and even with all that I know, I still get caught up in negative self-talk and inner struggles that make my life difficult.
While this book reiterates many of the concepts of the Abraham teachings and many seem oversimplified and redundant, I appreciate the section that gives 33 specific examples that represent common emotional challenges. Within each example are suggestions to shift thoughts and vibrations to go with the flow (downstream) rather than against it (upstream).
I’m been noticing my emotions during the course of the day. How often I feel stressed or reactive to small things. It’s great to be able to catch myself as I begin energizing the drama created by my imagination and self-talk.
Questions I ask myself:
1. Are my current thoughts and feelings moving me towards what I desire?
2. Am I making myself feel good? After all I am the Creator of my life experience!Â
3. Are my thoughts productive?
4. What will make me feel good?
5. What thought will offer relief and raise my vibration so that I can feel better?
Personally, I like this book and will keep it on hand with my other favorite, “Ask and It Is Given” which I recommend to all my friends and clients. “Ask and It is Given” simplifies the Law of Attraction, introduces an emotional scale to help you gauge where you are vibrationally, and offers “practices or games” to raise your emotions and vibration so that you are attracting more of what you want.
If you like the teachings of Abraham, grab these two books. You’ll love ‘em.

Hi,I am very interested in the book “the astonishing power of emotions”.
I cannot get this book as quickly and easily as I wish in China.
Would you mind of sending me an ebook of it?If it is possible.
Thank you very much.

Hi Hui
I’m a consumer like you and had to purchase the book from Amazon.com. It is available in CD from them but not in an eBook. You can also check with the Hicks directly at http://www.abraham-hicks.com but I suspect you will still have to wait.
Good luck!
