Well I just couldn’t resist giving you two!
The first exercise is one you probably know about. The second one is a favorite of mine.
(1) Gratitude Exercise:
I recommend writing in a daily gratitude journal. Taking time to list gifts and blessings, big and small, uplifts the spirit. Challenge yourself to transform negativity by finding gratitude in the most difficult situations. And, throughout the day, purposefully acknowledge what you are grateful for, silently or to others. Share your happiness. Try being afraid when you’re feeling joy!
Or…
(2) Do the 21- day Gratitude exercise. This is the one I do most often!
It’s a great exercise to do when feeling stuck, blocked, or financially challenged.
Begin each day by writing 7 things you’re grateful for. End each day by writing 7 more things you’re grateful for. You may not repeat anything twice! Each day’s writing must be something you have not mentioned before. You probably just thought – oh, oh, how am I going to come up with enough things to write about? If you’re thinking that would be very hard to do, here’s a little tip to get you going on the right track! Be specific about what you write.
For example – if you’re grateful for your spouse, consider breaking down all the things about him/her that bring you a sense of gratitude. Now you have a lot to write about -don’t you?
What I love about this exercise is how powerfully gratitude opens our heart and mind to see how much abundance, love, and joy we really have! Focusing on all the gifts and blessings in your life opens the door to attract possibilities and opportunities. Imagine putting your daily attention on all you have, to inspire you to move forward. I’m talking about the Law of Attraction in action!
How’s that for a motivator?
If you find after 21 days, you want to keep going - go for it. Living in a state of gratitude will transform your life. PS – if you miss a day, you gotta start all over!
Let me know what you think!
